“My Dove” was written in the Summer of 2003 as a love song. While it was inspired by personal love, the meaning has expanded to the multidimensional experience of Love for oneself, between two people, for members of your community, and throughout the world; as the thread that holds all things together. “My Dove” is about the precious and sacred vibe of affection, connection, intimacy, and unity that we are all here to experience: the very essence of Love.
“My Dove” is about the unsearchable wisdom of the mystery of Love; how we intuitively know and automatically seek the experience thereof- the sense of belonging, the vulnerability, the courage, the peace, the connection, and the presence it brings.
In this life we may think we are educated and so smart but there will always be the unfathomable depths of Love. Whatever good we have received, or experienced, is because of That Mystery (Love). My Dove is about being aware of The Mystery, sensing that It is active in our lives even through the darkest of times, and being thankful that It Is.
Love, whether we realize it or not, is The Reason we have the audacity to get up, live our lives, and be productive everyday. Love is why we seek meaning and relationships that are valuable. Love is our birthright. Love is our life; the very air we breathe and Love beckons us to improve our way of thinking and acting in this world.
Love seeks us and Love seeks to be found. It is true that you can experience Love through interaction with others but we know the only one who can always, without a shadow of a doubt, be there for you, is you. We have all been under the illusion that we should seek Love from others, but Love is found within, first.
Love sings to you, “You are My Dove,” and, hopefully, you are experiencing The Mysterious Majesty and grace, that allows you to say to someone, “You are My Dove” and hearing those words reciprocated and reflected back to you.
