Submission Guidelines for Prospective Authors
What we publish. I Am University Press accepts submissions of works in the transformational genre, including:
- Scripture and wisdom-text studies: original-language research that recovers meaning free from doctrinal or denominational framing (“Scripture” does not only mean biblical or “christian” writings. Scriptures exists all over the world from a host of cultures)
- Devotional and journal-based practices: guided journeys, structured daily rhythms, sacred workbooks
- Identity, purpose, and shadow work: practical manuals, maxim collections, and psychological-spiritual frameworks for self-discovery
- Synthesis works: books bridging ancient wisdom with quantum science, philosophy, or psychology
What we look for. We invite authors who:
- Write from wrestling, not certainty. Your work should reflect lived inner work, not borrowed authority.
- Build coherent frameworks. We value signature language and integrated bodies of work – an author’s titles should converse with one another.
- Reject spiritual elitism. Our books empower the reader’s direct access to truth; they do not gatekeep it, elevate the author as guru, or promise shortcuts.
- Respect the reader’s intelligence. We favor depth over comfort. Books that challenge readers to be stretched are welcome; books that flatter them are not.
- Offer application, not just argument. Wherever possible, give readers a practice: reflection questions, exercises, rituals, maxims, that carries the work beyond the page.
What we do not publish. Works promoting hatred, divisiveness, or spiritual exclusivity or proselytizing aimed at recruitment rather than transformation.
How to submit. Please send:
- A synopsis of the work (300–500 words), including its central thesis and intended reader
- An outline or table of contents
- One or two sample chapters
- A brief author statement: who you are, the inner work behind the book, and what you hope it unlocks in readers
- Whether the title connects to other published or planned works (we view submissions as potential parts of a larger curriculum)

A final word. If your manuscript invites readers to uncover who they truly are — and you’re prepared to have your own work tested, sharpened, and stretched by our editorial process — you’ve found a home. Welcome to the university.
